BEST are committed to continuous improvement within the Lightning Protection, Earthing and Specialist Access Industry, through continuous training and development of all employees, development of technical standards and working practices. We are leading active members of the Association of Technical Lightning & Access Specialist (ATLAS) and the associated Steeplejack and Lightning Protection Training Group.
We pride ourselves on our service and our philosophy is to provide our customers with the BEST level of service from initial enquiry to completion then ongoing through our maintenance services. We directly employ over 160 people throughout the UK, however despite our size, we still offer a friendly, personalised service that you would expect from a family run business.
We have held ISO 9001 certificaiton for over 18 years and continue to develop our processes and proceedures. In March 2017 we obtained ISO 9001:2015 for Quality, ISO 14001:2015 for Environmental and BS OHSAS 18001:2007 for Health & Safety for our Earthing, Lightning Prorection and Steeplejack Services. In addition we have numerous Health and Safety accreditations including Achilles, Safe Contractor and CHAS.
We believe it is important to invest in our employees, we promote continued training at all levels within the company from specialist day courses to NVQ’s and Degrees. We have excellent retention of staff with 10% achieving over 20 years of service and a further 30% with over 12 years of service.
We work in accordance with the ATLAS and UCATT Working Rule Agreement and commit to a minimum level of training to meet the ATLAS Criteria for Membership.
